About

Graduated in BSc Media and Communication Studies from Brunel University London with a specialization in online journalism, Sturle Hauge Simonsen joined Stockholm Resilience Centre in May 2007.

He has more than eight years of extensive professional experience in the field of web content management and publications. Previous work experience includes assignments on both national and international level:

Before joining SEI, he worked as Web editor for Norwegian School of Sport Sciences where he was Project Manager for the development of a new intranet as well as content manager for www.nih.no.

Between November 2002 and July 2005 he worked as Research, Development and Publications Manager for Relocation Enterprises in Rome. Main responsibilities included:

- Designing and developing company website to enhance usability and search engine optimalisation.
- Content manager for www.relocationenterprises.com and company newsletter.
- Coordinating all research related to for an in-house project named 'Global Development', in the company's 15 destinations: Italy, Switzerland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Baltic States, Malta, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Uganda.

Since November 2001 he has also worked as web manager for Children At Risk Foundation, an organisation dedicated to help street kids in Brazil.

He has an Executive Masters in Intercultural Communication from University of Lugano, with a specialization in Intercultural Resilience.

Norwegian mothertongue, he is also fluent in English and Italian.
