About

I am a graduate student at Stockholm University in the Theoretical Physics Masters program. I have completed a Masters from University of Karachi, Pakistan where I majored in spectroscopy, by research in Computational Hyperfine Spectroscopy.

My work in Computational Spectroscopy was in modeling of Hyperfine interaction. The aim was to develop a simulation for modeling the hyperfine splitting in atoms and ions. The simulation design helps the researchers study the hyperfine interaction in elements. In addition it also allows them to classify the resultant hyperfine structure (intensity distribution) under transitions between known atomic and ionic levels.

Poster of the simulation design was presented in conference "Physics and the world of today" at Physics Department in Karachi University. The presentation won third prize in the competition.

Recently, my thesis was published by Lambert Academic Publishing. The monograph of the thesis has been published and available on various websites for purchase. More details on the monograph can be found in the Book section of my page.

I also co-supervised a group of undergraduate students on their project in Computational Spectroscopy. The project was focused on studying hyperfine structure in which transition between unknown levels is involved. This is done by extracting the desired part of the FT (Fourier Transform) spectrum (from my simulation) and locating the set of hyperfine parameters of the upper and lower levels that would give an adequate fit over the experimentally obtained hyperfine structure (intensity profile). I supervise them in developing the underlying Mathematical model of the fitting procedure as well as application of OOP (Object Oriented Programming) in simulation design.

Although my work has been related to Computational Spectroscopy, particularly in Hyperfine interactions, my main area of interest is Theoretical Physics. My research interests in Theoretical Physics are wide ranged but broadly speaking I am interested in Cosmology and Particle Astrophysics. I have long standing interest in this capacity. Recent advances in these fields has unveiled interesting connections between these two domains. I am also interested in models beyond the Standard Model and unification of gravity with other fundamental forces of Nature. In addition,I also wander in the domain of Philosophy of Physics.

Currently I am working in AlbaNova University Centrum as a Research Student in Cosmology and Particle Astrophysics with Prof. Dr. Joakim Edsjö.

I am interested in research opportunities in Theoretical Physics in a research oriented and progressive institute where I can learn skills in Theoretical Physics research as well as utilize my previous research experience in Numerical Simulations.

Apart from Physics studies and research, I like photography as a part time activity and like to visit new places and learn new languages and culture.
